Grassroots Community Leaders in Ekiti and Osun States call for openness in Local Government Budgeting

Trained Grassroots Community Leaders from Ekiti and Osun States called for increased openness in the budgeting process and demanded for more voice in how projects slated for their Local Governments are selected. “This practice” they argue “will ensure that only projects that uplift rural communities are embarked upon. This practice will also check mismanagement of funds, the funneling of public funds for private purposes, impunity by LG officials and promote accountability.”
